Description

Amitabha Buddha, also known as Amida Buddha, is a prominent figure in Mahayana Buddhism. In Buddhist tradition, Amitabha is revered as one of the Five Buddhas of Wisdom and the principal Buddha of the Pure Land Buddhism school.

The name “Amitabha” translates to “Infinite Light” or “Boundless Radiance.” According to Buddhist scriptures, Amitabha resides in a pure land called Sukhavati or the “Land of Ultimate Bliss.” This pure land is described as a realm of great beauty and peace, free from suffering and filled with spiritual abundance.

Amitabha Buddha is particularly associated with the practice of Pure Land Buddhism, which emphasizes devotion to Amitabha and the aspiration to be reborn in his pure land.
